Which ACC Schools Produce the Best NBA Players

by admin

When discussing ACC schools and the players that went to the NBA, one would have to start and end with North Carolina and Michael Jordan. Jordan is, to many, the greatest player in NBA history. North Carolina though has also produced former slam dunk champion Vince Carter and NBA Champions and Hall of Famers, Bob McAdoo, Billy Cunningham and James Worthy.

Duke, the team that annually rivals UNC, has produced many stars but few elite players. The list of Blue Devils includes Christian Laettner, Danny Ferry, Grant Hill, Elton Brand and the current number one draft pick Kyrie Irving. Many of these players were excellent second and third options on contending teams in their NBA careers.

Wake Forest scores an honorable third on the list of ACC contribution to the NBA based on two players. The first is NBA Champion and future Hall of Famer, Tim Duncan. The second player is current superstar point guard Chris Paul. Honorable mention must also go to Georgia Tech and North Carolina State. The Yellow Jackets produced Chris Bosh, Kenny Anderson and Dennis Scott, all of whom would play for a title. North Carolina State gave the NBA David Thompson, an elite scoring machine.
